Greenunity

Greenunity is a participatory platform that promotes civic engagement around public green spaces in Ticino, where urban decisions are often managed top-down by institutions. It gives citizens structured tools to propose projects, vote, join events, and access expert content, bridging the gap between communities and decision-makers while supporting participatory urban sustainability. Developed through a User-Centered Design approach and iterative research process, the platform focuses on real needs to foster emotional involvement and a strong sense of belonging. Its clean interface encourages collective responsibility and active participation. A key innovation is the use of AI-generated imagery to visualize projects before implementation. Rather than serving marketing or entertainment purposes, AI is used as a sustainable tool to help citizens imagine the transformation of public spaces, raising environmental awareness and supporting a greener future. By combining participatory governance with emotional design, Greenunity makes environmental engagement accessible, meaningful, and motivating.
