Le silence n'efface pas les idées

This video is part of a fictional political campaign in favor of voting rights for 16-year-olds. It denounces the limited place given to young people in political debate and the injustice of a system that renders them invisible. The scene, set in a living room in front of a television broadcasting political results, represents the space where opinions are formed. The father speaks, getting carried away, while the daughter, silenced by tape over her mouth, embodies the young people who are denied the right to vote. Through the slogan “Le silence n'efface pas les idées" (Silence does not erase ideas), the film reminds us that when young people's voices are ignored at the ballot box, their ideas end up being expressed in other ways, in a context of youth revolts inspired by movements in Nepal and Morocco.
