Laundry OS - One step at a time

Washing machines have evolved technologically, but the way we interact with them has barely changed. Many interfaces still rely on complexity, symbols, and dense controls—forcing users to guess, hesitate, and hope they made the right choice. Laundry OS is a design exploration that asks a simple question: What if doing laundry felt calm and self-explanatory? The project began by observing how uncertainty and cognitive overload shape the washing experience. Rather than adding more features, the focus shifted toward removing friction and guiding users through a clear, step-by-step flow. The interface breaks the process into meaningful moments, helping users make decisions with confidence. Intelligent suggestions work quietly in the background, supporting the user without demanding attention. Laundry OS is not about controlling a machine—it is about designing trust, clarity, and ease into an everyday ritual.
